A remarkable, green butterfly artwork depicting the butterfly species Euphaedra francina (“Magnificent forester”). It is evident this artwork depicts a butterfly, and yet… a butterfly is missing. Against the dark, deep background, only yellow and green wings vibrate, blue flashes here and there.
I made this original piece showing a green butterfly with the highest quality pastels, resistant to light. It’s been created without haste, with admiration of the power of nature. It is full of nuances, overlapping colours and contrasts. Thanks to my approach, this large painting is somehow devoid of movement, yet at the same time it vibrates and hypnotizes.
