Colorful and juicy butterfly painting Stichophthalma camadeva (the Northern jungle queen). Without light, there is no picture, this light allows photography to exist, it is its indispensable element. Light is colour, its temperature has a huge impact on how we feel about reality. This butterfly brings to mind hot, stuffy summer days. It is a kaleidoscope of colours, from yellowish greens, through blues, to delicate purples with beautiful, intense orange eyes. The colours on its wings merge and blend. But this crazy rainbow is only an appearance, on a daily basis this butterfly shows us its calm, subdued nature, its underside is predominantly in shades of brown. In the photographer’s lens, it turned into a rainbow, its scales glistened like sequins in the flashlight. Does that mean brown was worse or uglier? Perhaps in our assessments, yes, but for the butterfly itself, our categories of beauty and unusualness do not matter, after all, he sees the world differently, just as thanks to this photograph, we also saw him in a completely new light.
